Live from ... LAS VEGAS?!- The night went much better this time. The meetings on the previous day were supposed to be the BIG ones for me and as they went quite OK, a little bit of the pressure of the trip went off. Unfortunately, our colleague from our US office couldn't change her flight schedules so she had no choice but to go to Los Angeles first. As for Steven and me, well, back to Pixar. We met "J" again, and we went to the editing room where during a couple of hours, he was kind to show us every bit of video-clips which could help us in our project. Really a big Thank you,"J". As I was supposed to present some updated storyboards to Disney people on Friday, I needed a place to work. We went in one area where I could have a desk, a chair, and electricity. I just needed that, as I have brought along with me for the trip my little own personal light box that some people have mistaken for a scanner in a photo you can see upper (again!). And I started my work, while Steven was taking pictures.
Again, lunch time. We went to the cafeteria, ordered some stuff and went back to the booth where I was doing my stuff. I have to mention that while waiting for the food to be ready I saw Andrew Stanton, Andrew Gordon, and I forgot to mention that on the previous day I saw Peter Docter!
Later, there was a huge need for me to visit the bathroom, and as I knew where it was, I went there unescorted. On my way back, there was one of the meeting room which door was now open with someone speaking and making funny sounds and other people laughing. Not stopping, I had a glimpse at what it was all about: it was one guy explaining a scene to the others, making sounds and doing gestures. And there was John Lasseter! And as the guy was close to the door, well, they sure saw me as well! I was scared and excited in the same time... both for no reason! I didn't get into troubles, and I didn't met "The" man! But it made my day.
Unfortunately, the Pixar shop was closed for inventory on that day... so no opportunity to shop like crazy again!
It was time to leave, we went back to the airport with the BART ( metro of San Francisco ). There, I have had few minutes to wander around and in a DVD shop, I found the DVD of a "new" artist, Terry Fator discovered in "America got Talent" and that my little family likes a lot. So, I bought his "LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS" DVD.
We took off late, but the pilot succeed to make us arrive in Los Angeles with 30 minutes in advance, a tour de force considering the flight was supposed to be only of one hour!
We went to the Hilton hotel in Universal City using a shuttle bus. This time, Steven and I had to share the room. We had a very nice view on the Universal Studios Park just down below! It was close to Halloween night and they were setting up things there. We went to eat some nice food in the shopping area next to the Park.
Back in the room, we worked a little bit further with our colleague from our American division. And then, I had to do a couple of drawings. We went to sleep at 1 AM.

En direct de... LAS VEGAS?!- La nuit se passa beaucoup mieux pour moi. Comme les réunions de la journée précédente étaient supposées être les plus importantes, et comme elles s'étaient relativement bien passées, le stress était retombé un peu. Malheureusement, notre collègue de la division américaine n'ayant pas pu changer son vol, elle dût se rendre à Los Angeles comme prévu initialement. Quant à Steven et moi-même... Retour à Pixar. Nous avons retrouvé "J" qui fût d'une extrême amabilité et courtoisie. Pendant 2 bonnes heures, dans une salle de pré-visualisation, il nous montra tous les clips qui pouvaient nous être utlies pour notre projet. Vraiment un très grand MERCI,"J". Comme je devais présenter une version modifiée d'après les commentaires de la veille, j'avais besoin d'un endroit où je pouvais travailler. Nous sommes allés nous installer dans un coin où il y avait une table, deux chaises et de l'electricité. J'avais juste besoin de ça, comme j'avais amené avec moi ma petite table lumineus que certains ont pris pour un scanner dans la photo que vous pouvez revoir ci-dessus!. Et j'ai commencé à travailler pendant que Steven prenait des photos.
Encore une fois, l'heure du déjeuner. Nous retournons à la cafétéria, on commande et on retourne bosser! C'est à ce moment là que parmi la foule j'ai remarqué Andrew Stanton, Andrew Gordon, et j'ai oublié de dire que la veille j'avais croisé Peter Docter dans les couloirs à l'étage!
Bien sûr, à un moment, j'ai dû aller aux toilettes. Et comme je savais où elles se trouvaient, j'y suis allé non-accompagné! Sur le chemin du retour, il y avait une salle de réunion dont la porte était mainenant ouverte avec quelqu'un qui parlait et qui faisait des drôles de bruits avec sa bouche et d'autres personnes qui riaient. Sans m'arrêter, je jetais un coup d'oeil furtif pour savoir de quoi il en retournait: C'était un gars qui expliquait une scène en la bruitant et la mimant. Et parmi les gens de la réunion: John Lasseter! Et comme le gars était près de la porte ouverte, ils m'ont vu jeter mon petit coup d'oeil! J'avais peur et j'étais excité en même temps!... sans raisons valables! Je n'ai pas eu de problèmes, et je n'avais pas "réellement" rencontré "LE" maître des lieux! Mais ça m'a suffit pour me satisfaire!
Malenconcontreusement, la petite boutique de souvenirs était fermé pour inventaire! Donc pas de possibilités de pouvoir acheter encore tout un tas d'autres choses!
Vint le temps de quitter les locaux de Pixar, et nous voilà de nouveau dans le BART (métro de San Francisco) avec nos valises. C'est là que dans une boutique, j'ai vu le DVD d'un artiste, Terry Fator découvert dans "America got talent" et que toute ma petite famille aime bien. Alors, j'ai sauté sur l'occasion et j'ai acheté son DVD"LIVE FROM LAS VEGAS".
Nous avons décollé avec du retard, mais le pilote à quand même réussi à arriver à Los Angeles avec 30 minutes d'avance! Un tour de force si on considère que le vol ne devait durer qu'un peu plus d'une heure à l'origine!
Nous sommes allés de l'aéroport de LA jusqu'à l'hotel Hilton Universal City en minibus. Cette fois-çi, Steven et moi devions partager une chambre à deux lits. Nous avions une belle vue sur le parc Universal Studios juste en dessous de notre fenêtre! Comme on approchait de la nuit d'Halloween, ils étaient en train de faire les préparatifs. Nous sommes allés manger dans la rue marchande juste à côté. De retour dans la chambre, nous avons continué à travailler un peu avec notre collègue qui nous avait rejoint. Après quoi, il me restait encore deux dessins à faire. On est allé se coucher vers 1h du mat'.
