How... Juste... Part 03

A short message today, because I cannot sit for too long! I am at home with some back pain again. Strong ones this time! So, I am either standing or lying on my bed, but I avoid sitting as much as possible! The T-shirt I have today is a souvenir I bought the last time I went to Los Angeles for a business trip, where I went to see Pixar's " UP " in production for a game we prepared at that time. It is the standard Superman logo, red and yellow, on blue! The previous photos were taken by a colleague at the office, Bob. Thank you, man! Today, obviously, I took it, just before going to see the doctor this morning!

Un court message aujourd'hui: j'ai à nouveau des problèmes avec mon dos! Grosses douleurs cette fois-ci! Donc, je suis sois en position debout ou alors allongé sur mon lit, mais autant que possible j'évite d'être assis trop longtemp! Le T-shirt que je porte aujourd'hui est le logo standard de Superman, rouge et jaune sur fond bleu. C'est un souvenir acheté lors de mon dernier voyage d'affaires à Los Angeles l'an dernier, pour aller voir le film " Là-Haut " de Pixar, alors en production. Les photos précédentes ont été prises par un collègue de boulot, Bob. Merci pour le coup de main! La photo d'aujourd'hui, ben tout seul, juste avant d'aller voir le docteur!

How... Juste... Part 02

Another day, another Tee! I got this one recently in Macau, during a recent trip there. There were many to choose, but I went with this one because it is the T-shirt for Superboy in its fairly recent version in the comics, before he got killed! Fashion comment from THE MOM: at least it is not a flashy blue, it looks more serious! And on the paper, only few chosen ones can see what I have drawn !

Un autre jour, un autre T-shirt! Je me suis procuré celui-là à Macao lors d'une récente virée. Il y avait plein de choix, mais j'ai pris celui-ci parce qu'il ressemble au T-shirt porté par Superboy dans une de ces toutes dernières versions dans les comics, avant qu'il ne sois tué! Commentaire de LA MAMAN: au moins ce n'est pas un flashy bleu, ça fait un peu plus sérieux! Et sur le papier que je tiens, seulement une poignée de "choisis" peuvent voir ce que j'ai dessiné!

How many... Juste combien...

So, one time, I came with several Superman attire at the office. And one of my colleagues asked me just how many of them I have. So let's have some fun: this week ( and maybe more ) I will wear a different Superman stuff everyday! And the one on the pic is tied-up with the 2006 movie. My wife brought it back from the US when she went on a business trip. It starts to be old, and I will most likely throw it away some time soon... I know my Mom is going to be happy about that. She considers that I should seriously change my wardrobe for something more age appropriate! But still, that's one! Special bonus, you get to see my working place. Yeah! I know, mhat a mess!

Donc, récemment, je suis allé au boulot avec un T-shirt différent de Superman. Un de mes collègues m'a alors demandé combien j'avais de T-Shirts différents. Alors, il m'a donné l'idée de m'habiller avec tous mes T-Shirts cette semaine ( et peut-ètre même plus! ). Celui sur la photo ci-dessous m'a été offert par ma femme, à son retour d'un voyage d'affaires à New York. C'est une version du logo liée au film de 2006. Il commence à être un peu usé et je pense que je vais m'en débarasser très bientôt ( à la grande joie de ma mère qui pense que je devrais sérieusement revoir ma garde-robe avec des trucs plus appropriés à mon âge! ) . M'enfin, il compte encore! Bonus, vous pouvez voir mon petit bureau à la boite!

You would not believe how busy I am at the office and outside with my little family... Yeah, that's the main reason I am not that often updating my blog ( but, hey, I warned you in an older message! ). Anyway, here is a little drawing I did sometimes ago. You may remember that I am in the (long) process of doing an update of an old cover I did many moons ago. I posted a girl recently, near that flying old French car. Well, I was not very happy with the result so I rewamped the girl in a look closer to the original ( slightly closer, not that much! ) and also in a more " TRON " feeling which I think fit nicely. That's it for now. Come back some times soon!

Vous pouvez pas imaginer à quel point je suis occupé aussi bien au boulot qu'avec ma petite famille en ce moment! Ouais, c'est la raison principale pour faire que ce blog est si silencieux en ce moment ( mais je vous avais prévenu dans un billet! ). Mais passons, voici un dessin fait relativement récemment. Vous vous souvenez sans doute que je suis dans le (long) processus de faire une nouvelle version d'une couverture de BD que j'ai fait il y a de cela très longtemps ( Aïe mon dos! ). J'ai posté récemment un dessin d'un fille un peu aventurière, juste à côté de l'illus d'une 2CV volante. Bon, ben, le costume dans le dessin ne me convenait pas, donc j'en ai fait un autre, à peine plus proche du dessin original. Il a aussi un côté un peu plus "TRON" qui me parait adapté. C'est tout pour maintenant. Revenez bientôt.

Aaaah, the wonder of my Tablet PC! So convenient! Here is a quick sketch I made the last time I went to the playground room in our Residence's club. I sat on the floor and started sketching. There was a maid and a little baby girl playing together. I have to be really quick. The colors are not accurate.

Aaaah, la magie de ma tablette PC! Si pratique! Voici un petit croquis rapide que j'ai fait lors de ma dernière visite à la salle de jeu du club de notre résidence. Je me suis assis par terre et après avoir allumé l'ordi, j'ai commencé à faire mon crobard. Il y avait une domestique et une petite fille qui jouaient ensemble. Il me fallait faire vite. Et, euh... les couleurs ne sont absolument pas du tout correctes!

I have been pretty sick recently ( bronchitis ) but I am on the recovery side now so it is good. Many things to do at work. But I still manage to do some doodles, like the ones below which are for the second fake cover, The " Who's that man?" sequel. See, I am still alive...

J'ai été pas mal malade ces derniers temps ( bonne bronchite bien chiante! ) mais je suis sur la voie de la guérison, donc tout ira pour le mieux bientôt. J'ai plein de choses à faire au boulot, mais j'ai encore un peu de temps pour faire des gribouillis, comme ceux-là qui sont pour la deuxième fausse couv' de la suite de " Who's that man?". Vous voyez bien, je suis encore en vie!...

Parker...

Hi everybody. Missed me? Yeah, I missed you too! On top are a little illustration and a close-up of a part of it that I really like. I am a fan of Darwyn Cooke's artwork. It is very dynamic, and a little bit of retro feeling into it. I discovered him on "Catwoman", then "The Spirit" and "DC: The New Frontier". His new Graphic Novel "Parker" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1600104932/thethrillindetec ), an adaptation of the work of Richard Stark is due very soon. it is an impressive 140 something pages hard cover. On "Almost Darwyn Cooke's blog", there is that contest to be able to win one of the 5 signed books by Cooke. So, this is my entry for it. It was an opportunity for me to try my new little toy, that wonderful Tablet PC that I mentioned in a previous post. It was a real "Zero Paper" experience!It is great and really convenient, and I just discovered recently that it can serve as a very nice comics book e-reader! Especially the French ones!

In other news, the party organized by the French Consulat in Hong Kong went very well... but too much mixing is NOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD! Argh, my head and my stomac!
And this week-end, my little family and I will go to China, in Canton. If I don't forget to bring my camera, expect to see some photos soon!

Pour aller dans le feu de l'action, voic une illustration et une partie agrandie que j'aime bien d'un dessin que j'ai fait tout récemment. Je suis un fan du dessinateur américain Darwyn Cooke. Son style est très dynamique et un petit peu rétro ( dans le bon sens! ). Je l'ai découvert sur " Catwoman", " The Spirit" et plus récemment, " DC: The New Frontier". Son tout dernier ouvrage, "Parker" (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1600104932/thethrillindetec ), une adaptation d'un roman noir de Richard Stark, va sortir très bientôt. C'est un album de plus de 140 pages. Et sur le site de Cooke, "Almost Darwyn Cooke's blog", il y a cette compétition de dessin sur le thème de "Parker". Le juge sera Darwyn et les 5 premiers gagneront un album de "Parker" signé de la main du maître. Donc c'est mon dessin pour ça. Je dois rajouter que ce fût pour moi l'opportunité d'essayer mon nouveau jouet, la Tablette PC que j'ai mentionné dans un de mes billets précédents. C'est ma vraie expérience de "Zéro Papier". Tout à été fait depuis le tout début sur ordinateur. C'est vraiment superbe et très pratique.
En plus, j'ai découvert que c'est idéal pour lire des BDs françaises ou américaines!

Pour d'autres nouvelles, la soirée organisée par le consulat de France à HK s'est très bien passée. Mais les mélanges, c'est pas bien du touuuuuuuuut! J'ai la tête et l'estomac dans les talons! Et ce week-end, toute la petite famille part en Chine, à Canton. Alors à moins d'oublier mon appareil photo, attendez-vous à en avoir très bientôt ici-même!
